Aspects of Negro Life by Aaron Douglas

This painting is about Blacks who fights for what they want or believe to get everyone to agree with them. In Harlem, New York a lot of blacks were living there hoping for opportunities to work and express their talent. The guy in the middle is holding a instrument which tells us that he really wants to share his music with us. There are a lot of golden lines that is spreading everywhere to let everyone to listen to his musics.
HR themes that is represented in this painting is Negro Heritage and History because it's telling us about what's the most valuable thing to them. They wants the respect of people and they wants to impress people by their talents and wants whites to acknowledge them. There is also pride in this painting because the guy in the middle is surrounded by this bright light which represents the pride inside him. It tells us that Blacks work really hard to get through a lot of problems in the old days.
I like this image because it really stands out to me. I like how there's a lot of different colors and the creative thoughts on this painting because it really expresses a lot of things.
