This painting is about how Blacks value dancing and musics. In this image, the guy in the hat is really enjoying himself by dancing, but he kinda feels uncomfortable because there's a person in a mask who kept staring at him. This image expresses what Black culture is, like what they value the most, but it also tells us that the whites were teasing them by wearing a mask pretending to be like them.
The HR theme that is pervasive throughout this poem is Anger at Racism and Negro Heritage and History. Racism because what the guy in the mask is doing is offensive to Blacks. History because it tells us about the history of Black Culture and how it was like back then.
